Today we want to focus our blog posts around what + whom you should bring to your engagement session!
WHAT TO BRING:
Have you ever wondered about bringing along some of your favorite items to your engagement session, then you’re not alone. We love props, but only if they’re relevant to the couple. We don’t want you to bring something just to fill space.
If your parents got engaged in the same exact spot you did (first off, how cute would that be) bring a picture of that along with you. If you’re as obsessed with Ampersands as I am, bring one of those too!
Want to incorporate your new last name initial? Hit up Michaels, AC Moore, or Hobby Lobby (don’t forget to use a coupon!).
Want to spice things up a bit? Buy some spray paint + paint your new letter a bright + bold color that could be incorporated with your wedding decor! Why not kill two birds with one stone?
Want to schedule a fall/winter session? Bring along a favorite quilt or blanket. We just love wrapping our couples in quilts + it also allows you to get quiet a few of sitting poses as well.
WHO TO BRING:
Want to bring a family member or a friend along? First, stop and ask yourself why you want them there. We often find additional people to be a huge distraction for the couple. We want you in your most honest and comfortable state. Can you truly act yourself if your mother is standing there watching everything you do? Probably not. Don’t get us wrong, we LOVE your mothers, family members + friends, but maybe invite them to the wedding instead!
Have a child or pet? We’d love to incorporate them as best as possible into your engagement session. That being said, it is difficult to incorporate Bubbles your pet fish, so we might suggest you leave him + Fluffy, your hairless cat at home. But of course we do love children + dogs and would love to have them along for the journey. In these instances we do suggest you bring along a close friend or family member to watch your children + or pets while the lovely couple has their time to shine in front of the camera.
There are TONS of other things that you may ponder bringing to your engagement session. With that being said, we’re always up for questions so please don’t hesitate to contact us below:
