Today we’re going to chat about choosing the perfect location your engagement session! So pull up a chair, get yourself a nice cup of coffee + enjoy!

Engagements typically range between eight months to a year and a half long. This will give you PLENTY of time to choose the absolute perfect location for your session. Here are a few things to keep in mind while choosing your location:

1. Pick your favorite time of year. We recommend choosing a season, or month that really speaks to you. Do you both enjoy the summer? Perfect- let’s schedule your session then. By first choosing the season, it’ll help you then to choose a location.
2. We want YOU to choose the engagement session location. We can’t stress this enough. We of course are more than willing to help point you in the right direction, however the session is about you two and the love that you share. If we were to pick the location, it would hold no personal connection to you two! With that being said, we recommend that you sit down and create a list of special places that you two share together. It could be where you first met, went on your first date, or even where he proposed!
3. This goes along with the above point, but pick a location that makes you feel confident and comfortable. If you don’t like the city, let’s not photograph there. If you feel gorgeous in the middle of the field, let’s go for that!
4. Try contacting your wedding venue. You chose the venue because you love it, so why not take your engagement photos at the same location?
